Scion was a radical experiment for Toyota. Why not create a sub-brand just for millennials? The experiment worked, but soon the millennials started swapping their Scions for Toyotas, perceiving them as a step up.
Logically, Toyota retired Scion in 2016 and focused on producing more millennial-friendly Camrys and Corollas. They adopted three Scions into their lineup: the exciting FR-S sports car, the frugal iA sedan and the perky iM hatchback.
The weakest of the three – the iM – is hard to recommend over the sporty 86, the spacious RAV4 and the all-around winning Camry, updated for 2018.
