From mechanical engineer to beer engineer, Jon Near’s delicious career change has probably made a lot of people in Atlanta happy. The Georgia Tech graduate first started brewing beer with his fraternity brothers. Beers included a Jasmine Green Tea White Ale and Mint Chocolate Stout.
He turned his hobby into a career when he created Southern Sky Brewing Company. The new Kennesaw brewery contributes to the growing roster of breweries located in north Atlanta, which include Kennesaw’s Burnt Hickory Brewing and Woodstock’s Reformation Brewery.
Tasting hours are from 5-8:30PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and Saturdays from 2-5PM.
