While many Atlantans suffered through Tuesday’s gridlock, others witnessed a miracle. Stuck in gridlocked traffic on cold, icy and jam-packed I-285, baby Grace saw snow – and the world – for the first time.
According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the expectant parents were near Riverside Drive en route to a hospital. Realizing he was facing worsening conditions on the road and in the passenger seat, Grace’s father pulled the car over and delivered the baby with assistance from police officer Tim Sheffield around 5:25 p.m.
Grace was delivered without complications. Paramedics arrived shortly to transport the mother and baby to a hospital.
