Celebrating America’s best food, the James Beard Foundation announced its annual Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists with Georgia receiving several nods.
Kevin Gillespie of Red Beard Restaurants was nominated for Outstanding Restaurateur, while The Grey’s Mashama Bailey was nominated for Outstanding Chef. Emerging chefs Mia Orino and Carlo Gan from Kamayan ATL are also semifinalists. View the full nominees’ list here.
Earlier this month, Atlanta’s own The Busy Bee Café was named one of six recipients of the 2022 America’s Classics Awards, presented to locally owned restaurants with timeless appeal and beloved regionally for quality food reflecting the communities character.
