Velvet Taco is not a Mexican restaurant. Rather, it began when some benevolent genius asked: Why not offer all of the world’s best dishes in taco form?
Its diverse menu features the most seductive food from every culture wrapped in a rich, floury tortilla. Where else in the city can you have spicy tikka chicken, Cuban pork and Kobe beef in one meal?
Such varied menus are often cause for trepidation (see: Applebee’s). But I haven’t discovered a single taco I haven’t loved. Plus, prices are reasonable, ranging from $4-$7 a pop, and three will fill the average eater.
