Better by the dozen


Growing up, every Sunday was “dodo” day, a weekly tradition where we sat around the table eating bagels followed by, you guessed it, donuts (Atkins would not approve). Sadly this tradition has tapered off over the years, but my love for those hot, delicious circles hasn’t.

And while NYC may corner the market on bagels, there’s no shortage of this sweet, fried goodness down south. From the Instagram-worthy creations at Fashioned + Fried to the tried-and-true at Krispy Kreme on Ponce, these drool-worthy confections help me feel a little closer to memorable times in my childhood home.
