I have some dining to do. Ten Atlanta restaurants have been named semi-finalists for James Beard Awards, and I’ve been to six. First on my list is The Federal, nominated for Best New Restaurant.
Other nominees include Ford Fry (The Optimist, Superica, St. Cecilia and others) and Eddie Hernandez and Mike Klank (Taqueria del Sol) for Outstanding Restaurateur.
More than 24,000 restaurants compete for these annual awards, the most coveted in the industry. You can see the full list here. Final nominees will be announced March 15 with grand prizes awarded May 1 at a gala in Chicago.
