Tavernpointe: Traditional With a Twist

“I appreciate there are many meat groups represented,” said my son, Chris Butsch, commenting on the plentiful chicken, beef and pork dishes available at Tavernpointe.

There’s also seafood at this Midtown restaurant, where the menu was recently revamped to put more emphasis on Latin American flavors and Peruvian-style smoked meats.

We opted to try the saffron-marinated shrimp grilled flatbread, the salmon served with a goat cheese and black bean cake and a sampling of four types of tacos. All the dishes were winners, although I was not man enough for the fried jalapeños on the chicken taco.
