As I have zero desire to haul myself up a giant mountain, dining at Atlanta’s new food truck is the closest I’ll get to buying refreshments at a basecamp. Paul and Angela Smith, owners of Park Tavern, have opened Basecamp Provisions, an Airstream food truck parked in the restaurant’s circular driveway at Piedmont Park.
Basecamp Provisions is open Friday through Sunday from 8AM to 8PM, serving breakfast items like smoothies, avocado toast and acai bowls. Lunch and dinner selections include Korean and Thai curry tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, salads and artisanal soda floats.
A small shaded seating area is available.
