What began as a 1980 Georgia State research project by founder Tom Murphy on why Atlanta doesn’t have delis like NYC is now one of Intown’s most enduring and popular restaurants.

Located at Virginia and N. Highland, the neighborhood favorite packs locals and visitors in for its weekend brunches, casual lunches, memorable dinners and wine shop.

Watch the movie above and buy his book – including a full history of Murphy’s and many delicious recipes – here: Murphy’s: 30 Years of Recipes and Memories.

Oh, and that college project? Tom not only got an A+, the teacher demanded he launch his dream.
