For our artsy friends or musically inclined neighbors, the Museum of Design (known as MODA to Atlantans) is currently offering multiple guided tours of its latest exhibition, “Wire & Wood: Designing Iconic Guitars,” through September.
The exhibit touches on preliminary guitar design, examines how and why certain guitars have transformed into icons, and explores how technology might affect the guitar moving forward.
A few of the featured guitars include those played by Metallica’s James Hetfield, The Black Crowes’ Rich Robinson and Kurt Cobain. Tickets are free for MODA members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, and $5 for students.
