AJC Peachtree Road Race celebrates 50 years

The Fourth of July has to be one of my favorite holidays. In addition to fireworks, cookouts and parades, there’s also the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race. If you’re lucky enough to live here, you’ve seen the runners racing down Peachtree in search of victory (or maybe just the free t-shirt and drinks after).

The 10k, organized by the Atlanta Track Club, draws around 60,000 walkers and runners. This time around it’s more than just America they’ll be celebrating – the Peachtree Road Race turns 50 this year. Head downtown bright and early July 4 to join the festivities.
