Pilgrimage Festival: Bonnaroo for grown-ups

Counting Crows, Chris Stapleton, Jack White, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds are just a few of the big names among more than 60 diverse acts you can see at the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival on Sept. 22 and 23.

The festival is held on a 230-acre farm in Franklin, Tennessee, 20 minutes south of Nashville, and modeled on the New Orleans Jazz Fest. “It’s Bonnaroo for grown-ups,” Matthew Maxey, public relations manager of Visit Franklin, told me.

The festival showcases acts on six stages, while food offerings include the Farm to Turntable, the cleverly named food truck park.
