The oppressive, totalitarian world in Margaret Atwood’s “speculative fiction” novel, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” burst onto small screens with Hulu’s award-winning show. Its success was due in no small part to costume designer Ane Crabtree.
Her stunningly evocative work can be seen in “Dressing for Dystopia,” now on display at SCADFASH. The exhibition features 45 selections from both seasons of the show and is the museum’s first dedicated exclusively to costume design.
The exhibition runs through Aug. 12. Entrance is included with museum admission, which is $10 for adults, $5 for students and no charge for children younger than 14.
