The United States Postal Service (USPS) recently took a significant step towards a more sustainable future by introducing 50 electric mail delivery vehicles and installing 100 chargers at the South Atlanta Sorting and Delivery Center. As the launch location of its “Delivering for America” reform plan, this move aims to revolutionize mail delivery in the city, reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy.
As the transportation industry leads carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S., transitioning from gas-powered to at least 66,000 electric vans nationwide by 2028 will help achieve the goal of reducing the agency’s carbon footprint by 40%.
