Starbucks unionizing in Georgia

by The 100 Companies

While efforts to unionize have become more common over the past year at companies across the country, including Amazon, Liberty Tire Recycling and more locally, Starbucks has been the subject of one of the highest profile unionizing campaigns.

In recent months, three Georgia locations have joined the cause with an Augusta location becoming the first to do so in Georgia, followed by two Atlanta locations.

An Ansley Mall location voted to unionize in hopes of better contracts including higher pay, and at a Howell Mill location, workers participated in a one-day strike after noticing unionized workers were getting scheduled less.
