Atlanta’s professional community includes what seems to be an endless number of trades – from tech to healthcare to finance, we have it all. Now, another joins our roster – esports. Short for “electronic sports,” esports entails professional video gamers competing individually or as a team.
In early May, the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup, a competition between 64 teams was held in College Park. Leaders in the field say that this is one of the top growing industries in the country and they are working to make Atlanta a leader in the game. Careers can include playing, commentating, coding, marketing and more.
