There can be many problems with meetings. They’re not led effectively, information could have been shared by email, or there’s too many participants. A recent study showed that meetings with 5-8 people are the most productive. Smaller groups help build a sense of intimacy that opens rich debates.
Incorporate this practice into your organization by doing the following:
• Extend permission for people to ask to be included or decline to attend.
• Encourage your team to practice focused listening, self-awareness, and take ownership of their perspectives.
• Once implemented, track and manage how effective changes are and tweak as needed.
