Crowdfunding has been used to finance thousands of films, from student filmmakers seeking $100 for documentaries to major Hollywood productions from the likes of Spike Lee.
People who back those film projects often receive little more than a pat on the back while they watch the piece of art they helped pay for. With Title III crowdfunding rules in place, however, film creators can now cut their crowdfunded film’s backers in on a piece of the financial pie. Such is the case with “The Field Guide To Evil,” a horror anthology film currently seeking $200,000 in investments on MicroVentures.
