After I launched Atlanta neighborhood newspapers, we sold advertising faster than we could write stories. I approached Bob Steed, a King & Spalding bond attorney who wrote hilarious AJC columns.
Bob happily agreed to re-introduce his humor to our new generation of readers. He also guided me in 2005 when our PR firm published K&S’s 120-year history.
In 1970, Steed tired of the old, bad paintings of fox hunts in his firm’s offices, so he launched a decades-long effort to support local artists, launching the careers of many, including Steve Penley. Bob died this week at 79.
