Most new restaurants play it safe by sticking to a standard script that has done well in the past. While that strategy may please a restaurant’s investors, it stifles culinary creativity.

By “going off-script,” Zach and Cristina Meloy have been awarded the title of Atlanta’s best new restaurant.

After their underground supper club PushStart Kitchen caught the hearts and palates of Atlanta for two years, the Meloys raised over $70k on Kickstarter to open Better Half, their intimate brick-and-mortar restaurant on 14th street that serves locally sourced, seasonally inspired dishes and small batch cocktails that change on a daily basis.
