In giving tours to dignitaries and media of its week-old office in Ponce City Market Wednesday, Athenahealth became the first enterprise to open its doors in the region’s largest adaptive reuse project.
Athenahealth, delivering cloud-based services for electronic medical records, will bring nearly 700 new jobs by 2017 to its 75,000 sf space in the former Sears, Roebuck & Co. building. It features noise-canceling ceiling textures and a catwalk suspended throughout.
In spring 2015, when Ponce officially opens, H&F Burger, Chai Pani and other restaurants will serve workers, residents and visitors. The 1 million sf landmark is 87 percent leased.
