Historic Hotels of America

by

I love hotels with a history. For my daughter’s wedding this past weekend, guests stayed at The Lancaster Hotel, Houston’s oldest continually operating hotel and a member of Historic Hotels of America.

This program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation includes more than 275 hotels that are at least 50 years old and have historic significance. Properties range in size from the 15-room The Smith House in Dahlonega to Palmer-House Hilton in Chicago with a whopping 1,639 rooms.

Other members in the Southeast include The Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte, Le Meridien Tampa and The Peabody Memphis.
