When Gordon Hartman noticed other kids were reluctant to play in a hotel pool with his daughter Morgan, who has special needs, he did something about it. He took an abandoned quarry in northeast San Antonio, Texas, and created Morgan’s Wonderland, the first theme park built for people with special needs.
The six-year-old park has 25 acres of wheelchair-accessible fun, with playscapes, wheelchair swings and rides. Anyone with special needs pays no admission fee.
He’s not stopping there – Gordon is opening the world’s first splash park for people with disabilities. Morgan’s Inspiration Island will open spring 2017.
