Keep pets safe in Atlanta’s extreme heat

by The 100 Companies

July in Atlanta means temperatures are high and humidity is thick, which can be dangerous for people and pets. During the summer months, follow these tips to ensure the safety of your furry friends:

1. Never leave pets in a parked car.

2. On especially hot days, limit exercise to the early morning or evening hours.

3. Always carry water for pets to drink to avoid dehydration.

4. When walking your dog, be sure to avoid hot asphalt so they don’t burn their paws.

5. Watch for symptoms of heatstroke, which can include excessive panting, difficulty breathing, an increased heart rate, drooling or even collapsing.
