Thanksgiving was my dad’s favorite holiday – a day full of cooking, family and an incredible afternoon spread. After he passed, we didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving. It was too hard. Years later we began again, buying a prepared holiday feast from a local restaurant.
Three years ago, my sister and I became vegetarians and changed things up with a plant-based turkey alternative. And the last two years we’ve had close family join for a larger celebration again.
Over time we’ve healed, we’ve changed family traditions and had the opportunity to come back together to create new ones. For that I am thankful!
