One of the largest and oldest film festivals in the country takes place annually in Atlanta. This year’s Atlanta Film Festival, held April 1-10, marks year 40 of the now Academy Award-qualifying festival.
The festival is headquartered at the historic Plaza Theatre and branches out to surrounding Atlanta neighborhoods. This year the festival held a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $40,000 to help enhance the overall experience and bring filmmakers from around the world to Atlanta.
The idea is to immerse the film community in the process of filmmaking through screenings, production workshops, networking opportunities and parties.
