The Decorators’ Show House and Gardens tour, an annual fundraiser for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, this year showcases “The Pink Palace” on West Paces Ferry. Neel Reid and Philip Shutze designed the storied estate for the Rhodes family in 1924.

Like the Calhoun mansion on Pinestream Dr. and The Swan House on Andrews Dr., the house is an example of Italian Baroque style; it’s almost a direct copy of an 18th-century Venetian building. Baroque architecture came out of the high renaissance period in Italy in the late 16th century and is known for its elaborate ornamental flourishes and dramatic presentation.
