Given the swelling popularity of sporty crossovers, it’s no surprise that Ford has given the “ST” treatment to the Edge.
With a sharper suspension and 335 horsepower, the Edge ST is certainly more engaging to drive than other non-luxury crossovers. Were it similarly priced in the $35K range, it would be an easy sell. But it isn’t. The Edge ST starts at $43,450: the same price as an Audi Q5.
Though fun and generously equipped, the Edge ST is hard to justify buying over a luxury crossover. Perhaps its greatest merit is getting me excited for Ford’s upcoming fully-electric, Mustang-inspired CUV.
