“I don’t want this book to be about my life in the Japanese internment camp in China,” Sugar agitatedly told Jake on the phone. “This book is about the glory of God!”
“You can’t change the story after you’ve already told it to me and I’ve already started writing it,” Jake argued. “It will mention God, but this isn’t a story about God.”
“This is my book – my story and I want it to be about God, not about all those awful things that happened in that camp,” Sugar said.
“But those awful things make a better story!” Jake replied.
