The activism and achievements of the African-American community are recognized and celebrated during Black History Month each February.
This year’s theme “Black Health and Wellness,” chosen by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, focuses on the legacy of black scholars, health professionals and more while taking a look at how the African-American community is often underserved in the American healthcare system.
Learn more about why Black History Month is celebrated by visiting The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the APEX Museum, The King Center, Clark Atlanta University Art Galleries and Atlanta History Center.
