Artist Brandon Morrison finds inspiration in Atlanta’s vibrant scene

by The 100 Companies

Artist Brandon Morrison fell in love with painting during college. Upon receiving a care package from his mother, he spent all weekend trying out the enclosed acrylic paints and canvas boards. He’s painted ever since.

Making music was Morrison’s first love, where he learned a language and vocabulary that can also describe his art — improvisation, call and response, tone and texture. His flat, modernist style incorporates elements of Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, while maintaining a graffiti-like rawness and vibrancy. A love of Atlanta helps to inspire it — the noise, bustle of traffic, music scene, graffiti culture and ever-changing street art.
