Dr. Lisa Moore, the principal of North Fayette Elementary, located south of Atlanta, oversees one of hundreds of elementary schools that had to transition quickly to now operate solely online. She also monitors how both its teachers and students are adjusting.

From Zoom to Blackboard Collaborate to recording bedtime stories, and even offering counseling services if needed, NFE teachers are finding every possible way to connect with students. “It’s important our students know we are here, and we care,” Moore said.

Moore encourages other schools to maneuver with patience during this time: “Our kids need us now more than ever.”
