After watching the fifth runaway umbrella tumbling down Pawleys Island beach on July 4th, I thought to myself, “Why hasn’t someone launched a Kickstarter for a better beach umbrella design?”
A quick search on the site revealed a handful of entrepreneurs’ previously failed attempts to launch such a product, but the LEAF, which is in live fundraising mode on Kickstarter, may be the solution I am looking for.
With no sharp angles and a tilt & swivel design, LEAF may actually stand up to unexpected gusts. And as a bonus, the detachable solar panel can keep my phone’s battery topped off.
