At The Atlanta 100, we labor to deliver you pithy stories in exactly 100 words. My wife once gave me a book with six-word epitaphs – an online phenomenon inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s challenge to write a six-word short story (which he did).
I looked over a few of the book’s pages and proudly exclaimed I could write mine in only five words.
“Which?” Jan asked.
“Told stories – most were true.”
Ever the editor and recalling my penchant for not letting facts get in the way of a good story, Jan suggested a perhaps even more accurate summary:
“Some were true.”
