Following Monday’s death of former Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Beverly Hall – who battled breast cancer and her troubled APS tenure – we hear from her successor.
Meria Carstarphen says “given its ‘national’ reputation at the time and looking at what the strain was going to be coming into this position, I had a lot of decisions to make.
“When families are looking at the option as they come to Atlanta – this great American city with world-class offerings … our public school system needs to be [world class]. Atlanta will never be the city it should be without that element in place.”
