In this space I write about management. But what if you aren’t the manager?
You may not have a manager’s title, but each of us has managerial duties. We must manage our time, our attitudes, our supervisors and our careers. Each of those requires thoughtful effort.
Managing time and attitude properly drives efficiency and peer teamwork. Managing a supervisor entails understanding her expectations then working hard to meet them. Managing a career means defining goals, then getting the training and experience to reach those goals.
This can be as challenging as managing a department. Remember, you are the boss of you.
