Special Chattahoochee Edition

by Jan Schroder

We’re delighted to break the news the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area has awarded a 10-year exclusive contract to Nantahala Outdoor Center to open two riverside adventure centers next spring. We’re publishing this special ‘Hooch edition to celebrate.

NOC serves seven Southeastern rivers. The Chattahoochee will be its first in Georgia, offering fishing and float trips on the 3.5-mile Johnson Ferry to Powers Island flatwater section and whitewater trips on the 3-mile Class II Powers Island to Paces Mill section.

We just returned from an impressive visit to NOC in Bryson City, N.C., witnessing a swiftwater rescue. Read more here.
