This week, the Public Relations Society (PRSA) hosted its annual international conference in Philadelphia. Between sessions on media relations and the latest innovations in video marketing, I emerged only to see the Liberty Bell.
What’s new in PR? The news release is still not dead, and Google’s new Hummingbird search algorithm completely changes search engine optimization (SEO). With Hummingbird, more emphasis is placed on conversational language, as well as social media influence.
If an article goes viral on Google+ or Twitter – it will receive a higher ranking. You’ll also see more emphasis on “mobile search terms” – dictating into the phone.
