Evolving design trends now reflect working from home and, in general, staying home more – from making room for offices and workout areas to designating learning spots and backyard activities for kids, and more.
Open floor plans are less desirable as privacy to work is needed. Soundproof insulation is being added around newly transitioned office and at-home school areas. Backyard playsets and play areas are more popular as parents seek ways to entertain children.
Kitchen sizes are increasing to provide space for preparing meals and storage to stock food. An increased desire for antimicrobial home fixtures and finishes is also expected.
