The Flatiron Building, an 11-story triangle-shaped building barely noticeable in Atlanta’s skyline, is one of the oldest skyscrapers in the city.
Constructed in 1897 and designed by Bradford Gilbert, the English-American Building, later named the Flatiron Building, was the second skyscraper built in Atlanta. Sitting at the intersection of Peachtree and Broad Street across from Woodruff Park, the building was once home to businesses such as Otis Brothers & Company, Mutual Life Insurance Co. and National Cash Register Co.
After being sold for $2 million in 2014, the building was remodeled into FlatironCity, an entrepreneurship and innovation hub.
