Being community focused

by The 100 Companies

My friend Cathy Deano co-founded Painting with a Twist to unite the community after Hurricane Katrina. In a recent U.S. Chamber article, Cathy offered tips on companies being community-focused:

Community starts at home. Attend to the needs and desires of customers as they’re the WHY of your business.

Incorporate giving back into your company’s mission – whether through donations, partnerships or volunteering.

Get involved in your community. Join organizations like the Chamber; listen and network.

Be inclusive; outreach is an effective way to collaborate.

Remain true to your company culture, which underscores the who, why and how of your business.
