Grady gets green light for major South Fulton hospital

by katem

A major healthcare expansion is moving forward in South Fulton County after Grady Health System received state approval for a new hospital. The certificate of need clears the way for a planned 200-bed acute-care facility that will anchor the future Grady South medical campus in Union City.

The larger campus is expected to include a medical office building with imaging, surgery, specialty clinics, rehabilitation and pediatric care, alongside the hospital. Grady anticipates the hospital will serve as a Level 3 verified trauma center. The medical office building is slated to open in 2028, with the hospital expected to follow in 2031.
