During the early 20th century, the Atlanta Biltmore Hotel was known as “the South’s supreme hotel” – hosting elaborate galas and debutante balls, and serving celebrities like Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The $6 million Atlanta Biltmore Hotel and Biltmore Apartments were developed by William Candler, son of Coca-Cola executive Asa Candler, along with Holland Ball Judkins and John McEntee Bowman. From 1925 until 1956, Atlanta’s first radio station, WSB Radio, was broadcast from the easily recognizable radio masts on the hotel’s top floor.
After 1967, the Biltmore Hotel was sold multiple times before its transformation into an office and event space.
