Atlanta Horses for Heroes

by admin

When soldiers return from overseas, the war may not be over for them. As many soldiers who return home suffer from a variety of emotional and physical obstacles, one Atlanta nonprofit is working to improve soldiers’ wellbeing through horseback riding.

The Rising Star Equestrian Foundation, located at River Run Equestrian at Huntcliff, began Atlanta Horses for Heroes to ease posttraumatic stress disorder and memory loss in soldiers and for those with physical disabilities to  strengthen core muscles. The center also has an on-site therapist.

The program is free for vets. To learn more about horse therapy or donate, click here.

We are so excited that this wonderful program is taking place here in our neighborhood! We contribute to the national H4H, PATH organization, but if we could help locally in some way, let us know.
