Is it ok to drive on mismatched tires?

by The 100 Companies

Maybe you’ve hit a pothole and they don’t have a matching tire in stock. Or perhaps you’re looking at a used car with three Michelins and one Pirelli. Are mismatched tires really a big deal?

Yes. Different tires may have totally different wear patterns, all-weather performance, rolling resistance and more. As a result, a vehicle with mismatched tires may pull to one side, wobble at highway speeds and even damage its transmission.

In other words, driving on mismatched tires is like running in a sneaker and a loafer. You might make it, but you’ll realize why a match is best.
