It was the perfect excuse for a mother-daughter weekend – I got tickets to see “Hamilton” in Chicago and Catherine flew up from Houston to meet me.
While hotel rooms in the Windy City are pricey, I got a decent deal at the Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District, which has the advantage of housing the theater so we could enter straight from the lobby.
We could walk to The Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park and lots of restaurants within just a few blocks. Another highlight was biking/walking The 606, a 2.7-mile elevated park, similar to our BeltLine.
