Some innkeepers really get it right — they understand hospitality. La Maison in Midtown in Houston is one of those places.
Our stay started with a friendly greeting from co-owner Sharon Owens, who showed us around the lovely property billed as an urban bed and breakfast, and ended with a personal thank-you note from the staff and parting gift of a silver fortune cookie.
During our two-night stay we enjoyed the evening wine and appetizer hour, free Internet and comfortable room with verandah. A delicious hot breakfast served to us in a charming dining area was included in the reasonable rates.
