My COVID respite has become a friend’s incredible lake house at Lake Tobesofkee, an hour or so south of Atlanta.
Like many during the pandemic, she moved to the exurbs away from all the noise and uncertainty happening in the city. For me, it’s close enough for a day trip and even better for a getaway. I love the change of scenery, being near water and exploring all the small towns nearby, including neighboring Macon.
With wonderful cuisine at Dovetail or outdoor socially distant beverages and live music at The Society Garden, these hidden gems have me coming back regularly.
