They’re social. They have thumbs. They share our DNA. There are many ways gorillas are like us. And they count on us to help protect them.
World Gorilla Day is Sept. 24, and the Atlanta-based Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is sharing ways you can help. The Fossey Fund has been protecting gorillas for 50-plus years.
You can visit Fossey scientists at Zoo Atlanta or host a celebration yourself. You can recycle your cell phone to reduce demand for minerals mined in gorillas’ habitats. And, you can support a conservation organization like Fossey Fund doing on-the-ground work.
